  • Can I use FixCare if I have insurance?

Yes, you can use this program with Providers who do NOT participate with your plan.

You can also opt out of using your insurance with an In-network provider if you have a high deductable or did not want to wait for pre-authorization for the procedure or exam. The only caveat is :

1.) You must pay for the service or procedure at the time visit in full.

2.)The provider would have to agree to you opting out and you would need to sign a waiver  stating your choice to opt out of using your insurance policy.

3.)Opting put would then disqualify you to submit that those fees paid for the service to your insurance provider.

On February 18, 2010, the HITECH ACT regulated that the healthcare provider is required to enter the patient's request to restrict disclosure of protected health information to a health plan for purposes, other than carrying out treatment (specifically for Payments or healthcare operations) if the patient pays in the healthcare provider out-of-pocket in full  (Section 13405 subtitle D of HITECH that, 42 USC 17935) this means that if a patient does not wish to use her health insurance, they can request that their insurance not be billed.

*Medicare is the exception for covered services. See:
